Three things keep you on top of Roiva without hunting for it: Home, the search box and the bell.

#### Home

**Home**, at the top of the sidebar, is where the week starts. From the top:

- **Setup banner** — while your workspace is still being set up, a banner names the next step. **Set up your workspace** counts the Setup Guide's steps done and has a button for the next one; **Continue setup** takes you back into the setup flow if you left it partway. **Dismiss** hides the banner. A banner also says when you're exploring with sample data, with **Remove sample data**.
- **Connection failing** — when a connection's sync is failing, a warning names it, with a link to review it. See [Why is my integration not syncing?](https://roiva-staging.com/docs/integration-not-syncing)
- **The four cards** — **Planned value**, **Approved value**, **Total cost** and ROI. Home counts everything recorded to date; to read the same figures over a shorter period, open **ROI → Overview** and choose one there. Until anything is measured, one card says **Nothing measured yet** and offers the step that gets the first figure.
- **Inbox** — the things to do next, one row each (below), with **View all** for the whole list
- **Initiatives** — every open initiative, highest priority first, with what's approved against its plan and its stage. Chips on a row flag what's holding it back, such as a missing owner or no cost recorded.
- **Recent activity** — what's happened in the last two weeks; **View all activity** opens the full list

To take the portfolio away as a file, open **ROI → Reports**, where the Portfolio Snapshot is available as Excel, PDF or PowerPoint for the reporting period you pick there.

#### Inbox

Each row says what's wrong in one line, and its button opens the page where you fix it. Rows come most urgent first:

1. Synced spend no initiative books (**Link to initiatives**). Your total cost reads low until it's linked, so ROI looks better than it is.
2. Value entries waiting on your approval (**Review and approve**) — only the ones you can approve
3. Value formulas waiting on a figure from you (**Enter the figures**)
4. Initiatives missing a baseline, waiting on an after-value, or due for a re-measure. Each opens the **Inbox** on those figures.
5. Connections not linked to an initiative, with no spend behind them
6. Value formulas waiting on a sync. If one connection brings everything they need, Owners and Admins get a button that syncs that connection now.

With no initiative of your own yet, the connections row asks you to **Create an initiative** first. Home shows up to eight rows.

The bell-slash icon at the end of a row, **Snooze for a week**, hides it for you alone. It comes back after seven days, or sooner if its count changes: a row about 3 entries is a different row once there are 4. Snoozed rows are counted beside the **Inbox** heading; click the count (for example **2 items snoozed · Show**) to bring them all back.

#### Search

The search box in the top bar finds things across your account. Press ⌘K on a Mac, or Ctrl K on Windows, to jump to it from anywhere. Type at least two characters. The dropdown groups what it finds:

- **Initiatives**, and **Records**: paste an invoice number, charge ID or ticket ID to find the cost entry, value entry or reading Roiva booked from it
- **Pages** in the app, such as Approvals or General Settings, as far as your role and plan open them
- **Metrics**, **Value Formulas** and **Assumptions**
- **Connections**, by name, account or platform. A platform you haven't connected shows too, so you can connect it.
- **Vendors** you pay, for people who can read cost entries
- **People** — opens Initiatives filtered to what that person owns
- **Templates**, **Notes** and **Docs**

Arrow keys move through the results, and Enter opens one. The View all results link at the bottom opens the Search page, which also lists assessments. Before you type, the dropdown shows what you opened most recently (**Recently Viewed**), or, until you've opened anything, the account's most recently updated initiatives.

The search box isn't shown on phone-sized screens.

#### Notifications

The bell in the top bar shows how many notifications you haven't read. Opening one marks it read and takes you to what it's about. **Mark all read** clears the count, and **View all notifications** opens the full list.

You're notified about:

- **Approvals** — an initiative or value entry submitted for your review, and a daily reminder for anything that has waited too long. Waiting too long means the **Approval SLA (days)** an Owner or Admin sets under **Organization Settings → Approvals**, or 3 days if none is set.
- **Initiatives and entries** — an initiative you own or approve changing stage or being rejected, and a value entry you recorded being approved or disputed
- **Imports** — a CSV import you started finishing, with what it recorded and what it skipped
- **Files you asked for** — a full account export or an auditor packet being ready to download
- **Your team** — someone joining or leaving the account, and your own role changing

A failing sync doesn't send a notification. It shows on Home and on the connection's page.

#### Turning notifications off

Open your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then **Profile → Notifications**. Each switch turns a category off:

- **Monthly ROI digest** — an email summing up the month just ended, sent only when the month had something in it
- **Approvals & initiative updates** — approval requests and reminders, rejections, stage changes and value entry decisions. It also stops the daily email listing what's waiting on your approval.
- **Import alerts** — the bell notification when a CSV import finishes
- **Team changes** — the bell notification when someone joins or leaves

Choose **Save preferences**. Export-ready and packet-ready notifications, and changes to your own role, always arrive: you asked for the file, or it's about your own access.

Slack and Microsoft Teams channel alerts are set on the connection, not here: see [Managing a connection](https://roiva-staging.com/docs/managing-a-connection).
