What an initiative needs before it has a number

An initiative's value formulas calculate only once every figure they read is in: the systems that feed them are connected and reporting, the figures only your team knows are entered, and the before-values are set. Until then the initiative has no calculated value, or has value that waits for review. Three places list what's missing, and Home points to them.

The Setup tab

Each initiative's Setup tab, second after Overview, lists everything that one initiative still needs, one row each. It opens with a count such as "5 of 8 ready". The initiative's Overview shows the same count while anything is outstanding, with Open setup.

The rows fall into three sections:

Systems — where its readings and costs come from. A row for each set of readings names the platforms that can report them, and one connected system per row is enough. The Costs row is ready once anything books a cost to the initiative: a linked cost source with something mapped, an allocation rule that books to it, a cost entry or a recurring cost.
Figures only you have — assumptions, before-values and readings no connected system reports. Before-values and readings say where to find them, and a Roiva default shows its confidence and source.
People — the initiative's owner, and whether anyone else is on the account (invitations count) to track costs and sign off value.

Each row's icon says where it stands:

A tick — ready.
An empty circle — to do: something to connect, link or enter.
A warning sign — needs attention: for example a connection that's failing or hasn't reported what it's read for, a cost source with nothing mapped, an assumption still on a Roiva default, a baseline Roiva estimated, or a figure typed in more than 90 days ago.
A clock — not due yet: a reading that's recorded once the initiative has started. These don't count toward the total.

The button on each row settles it. Assumptions are answered in the row itself: type the figure and Save (or Confirm a Roiva default as it is). The figure is your account's own from today, so every initiative that reads it uses it. A baseline row has Add baseline, or Replace estimate when Roiva estimated it. A system nobody has connected yet has a Connect button for an Owner or Admin; anyone else sees "An admin connects it".

Anyone on the account can enter figures and baselines. If the initiative has no value formula yet, the tab says so and offers Add a value formula.

Missing Inputs

The Missing Inputs page lists every value formula across the account whose last calculation was missing an input, with a field for each figure a person can enter. Reach it from your Inbox row, from Enter the figures above the In Use list on Method → Formulas, or from a waiting formula's own page, which narrows it to that formula.

For each formula, type what you know and click Save and calculate. You can leave a field blank and come back to it. Roiva saves each figure in its place (an assumption as your account's own figure, a before-value as the initiative's baseline, a reading as this month's) and calculates the formula straight away. The message that follows says what it calculated and whether it was approved automatically or is waiting for review under Value Entries.

Under each field, Roiva says why the figure is yours to enter and, for many figures, Where to find it: which report or records hold it, and how to measure it when nothing tracks it.

Some inputs have nothing to type:

Waiting on a sync — a connected system's next sync brings the figure. An Owner or Admin can sync it now from the formula's row, and the page follows the sync until it finishes. Anyone else is told when Roiva syncs it on its own.
A connection that's paused, failing or needs reconnecting says so, with Open the connection.
A figure Roiva works out from the formula's other inputs fills itself in once they're there.

Figures to record, in the Inbox

The Inbox lists every figure someone has to measure by hand across your active initiatives, alongside everything else waiting on you. Filter it by Kind to Measurements to see only these. Each row opens its own form, so several can be recorded without leaving the list:

A before-value a formula reads that nobody has set. The formula can't calculate until it's set. Add baseline opens the form.
The baseline is set, but nothing has recorded what the figure is now. Record after-value.
A figure typed in more than 90 days ago (Re-measure: confirm it still holds, or record what it is now), or a monthly count or amount that doesn't cover this month yet (Record this month).

Each form opens in a panel, and saving brings you back with the row gone. On the Initiatives list, an initiative with figures due also has Record after-values or Re-measure in its … menu, which opens this page for that initiative alone.

Submitting for review before setup is complete

Submit for Review still works while the Setup tab has rows outstanding, but first it asks you to confirm: it says how many setup items are ready, names what still needs attention, and asks "Submit for review anyway?" It's a warning, not a block. Reviewers will see an initiative without a number, or with value still waiting for review.

Home's Inbox rows

These rows on Home lead to the pages above:

"N initiatives missing a baseline", "N initiatives waiting on an after-value" and "N initiatives due for a re-measure" each open the Inbox on those figures.
"N value formulas waiting on a figure from you" opens Missing Inputs.
"N value formulas waiting on a sync" opens Missing Inputs too. When one connection brings them all, an Owner or Admin gets its Sync now button on the row.

A row can be snoozed for a week, or until its count changes.
